The Weeknd and Lana Del Rey have a storied collaborative history, with the latter appearing on the Canadian crooner’s albums Beauty Behind the Madness (on “Prisoner”) and Starboy (on “Party Monster” and “Stargirl Interlude.”) Now, the database for music publishing rights organization ASCAP reveals that the Weeknd has returned the favor, writing on a new Lana Del Rey song titled “Lust for Life.” Lana recently teased the collaboration, tweeting out “X💕O.” Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for Lana Del Rey and the Weeknd for comment.
Lana Del Rey is readying a new LP—the follow-up to 2015’s Honeymoon. In a recent interview, she said “it’s just a little more socially aware.” Thus far, she’s released the single “Love.” Check out its music video below.
