The sisters Crutchfield, aka Katie (Waxahatchee) and Allison, took the stage at Vulture Festival over the weekend for a jam session. Amid the songs they performed, they covered Sleater-Kinney’s “Modern Girl” from the band’s 2005 album The Woods (via Stereogum). Watch below. Early in their careers, the sisters played together in P.S. Eliot. Last year, they released a complete anthology of their two LPs (2009’s Introverted Romance in Our Troubled Minds and 2011’s Sadie) and single EP, 2010’s Living in Squalor. Allison released her solo debut album Tourist in This Town earlier this year, and Waxahatchee will be releasing her new album, Out in the Storm, on July 14.
