Father John Misty will release his new album Pure Comedy soon, but today, he’s released a series of new songs all titled “Generic Pop Song” (numbers 3, 9, and 16). As the titles suggest, they’re all pop songs with fairly boilerplate lyrics. (“Out on the edge/feels like the middle/like the middle of a prayer.”) It’s also worth noting that today, Josh Tillman has (at least temporarily) returned to Twitter. Check out all the new songs below. Pure Comedy is out April 7 via Sub Pop/Bella Union.
