Pitchfork Announces Talk With Nile Rodgers

Pitchfork’s “In Sight Out” series—which covers new perspectives in music, art, and culture—is pleased to announce a new event this spring. On May 16 at the Sanctuary at Murmrr Ballroom (located at 17 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn), the legendary Nile Rodgers will speak about his storied career and the future for working artists. He’ll also have his famous “Hitmaker” guitar on hand to play iconic riffs from throughout his catalog. Pitchfork’s Founder and Editor-in-Chief Ryan Schreiber will introduce Rodgers, and there will also be an audience Q&A.

Tickets for the event are available here.

The co-founder of CHIC and a prolific collaborator and producer, Rodgers has worked on hits for David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Daft Punk, Duran Duran, and countless others. Earlier this month, he was given the Award for Musical Achievement by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Rodgers recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of CHIC, and the band has plans to release a new albumIt's About Time. They released their last album, Chic-ism, in 1992.

This edition of “In Sight Out” is co-presented by AdHoc; “In Sight Out” is supported by MailChimp.
